Current Favorites

As I'm sitting here writing this, I realize I'm probably the only human being doing a favorites post in the middle of July (kinda awk). This originally was going to be a "How To Style Military Jackets" but the way my hair is set up at the moment...let's get on with the post?

Surprisingly, I just discovered Nylon Magazine! Each and every page, heck, even the ads inspire me. The way they convey the messages are killer from their punky collages to the little doodles that are here and there on the pages. This magazine is every "grungy babes" dreams wrapped in one.

Sunglasses- Francesca's// Lip Scrub- Lush// Camera- Canon 60D
The pearl glasses on the upper left are to die for. Whenever I'm wearing them through the Houston heat I can't help but feel my inner Audrey Hepburn radiating. I got these from Francesca's but unfortunately they're no longer available on the website- pretty sure they sell these at a local one on your area though!
This lip scrub is freakin' amazing. That's all the words I can say tbh. I recently found my sim card for my DSLR camera and now I can finally live in peace. Thanks to this gem right here my photo's will no longer be crappy iPhone photos (insert Drake saying HYFR).

Crystal- Mexico// Album- Ultraviolence by Lana Del Rey
Having this crystal around me fills me with such happiness. I just have this aroma surrounding me that puts me in a bright mood. A few years back, my best friend took a trip to Mexico and picked this up for me and said she thought of me which is very sweet.
Lately I've been vibin with Lana Del Rey's album Ultraviolence. Every song has a message that really hits deep. It's very poetic.

Foundation- Revlon Colorstay// Makeup Bag- Vera Bradley
This foundation is great for anyone looking for something inexpensive helping oily/combination skin. The shade I have is 400 caramel. I store all my makeup in this Vera Bradley cosmetic bag in the pattern Citron. Usually I'm not very fond of the brand, but something about this bag stuck out to me. Plus it has a heck lot of room!
That's basically all my favs. I'm going to Disney World tomorrow, so maybe a post about that perhaps?
Until next time,
Melody xx.

Finding Myself

Phases.

We all have had them, some more cringe worthy than others but it's what makes us human. When you were a child, you probably dreamed of being a princess and pranced around in a tutu for a month straight- or in your early adolescent years you might have been through the oh so embarrassing 'scene phase'. Are you trying to erase the visions of that year too? Same.

One morning, as I was drinking chai tea with my chelsea boots kicked high over the balcony, my mind pondered a question that many of us are afraid to answer.
  Who am I?

Every phase we are determined that the person you tried to be is the real you. Then when a year or so passes, we find ourselves looking back and saying 'oh god did I really wear that'? The point I'm trying to make is I just want to be me. Early on as I look back into my past, I notice that I was never truly happy into the person I was trying to create myself to be. Yes, people do say be yourself- but then again what is myself?

Skipping past this intro that probably was a little too deep, I'm really here to tell you all that I haven't left blogger at all. I just needed a little (okay...it was almost a year) break to do some self discovery. And I'm glad I did because I feel like I have a more positive outlook on life then I did before. So what you'll be expecting from me in this future are posts that reflect...well me. You will see fashion posts of course but also see music I'm probs digging at the moment and more ideas I'll come up with. For now, I'm just living in the moment.

Thank you so much for accepting who I am- until next time,
Melody x.
